High summer brings every shade of yellow to the farm…
From the blossoms to the pollinators, the babes to our Matriarch goat’s eyes ๐
It speaks of sunshine embodied and whispers of the beauty peaking from every corner…
It reminds us that medicine, whether cultivated or wild foraged, is all around us.

Yellow butterfly on Bindweed | Goldenrod | Chamomile

Calendula Resina

Muscovy duckling | Mullein

Bumble Bee | Elecampane

Feverfew | Mexican Hat

Cota/Navajo/Green Thread | Gumweed
Yellow isn’t flashy like the reds and purples of late Summer or the bright oranges of Autumn, but it’s richness cannot be denied.
Last, but definitely not least, I’ll leave you with Mama, our herd Matriarch, coming in from the field tonight. Her resilient spirit and golden eyes will never not astonish me ๐
Wishing you a glorious weekend ahead! Take time to notice the yellow bits around you, OK? There’s magic in their glow.
Onward,
Melissa
P.S.
This song has been playing on repeat in my head this week. It’s not new, but it’s on theme ๐

And I feel, yellow becoming me
Oh oh, standing on this wire
Makes me realize I am alive
And I won’t settle

All the photographs you shared are lovely, but I love the “Bumble Bee | Elecampane” picture.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, Melissa. Thanks for sharing this post.
Wonderfully sunny yellows! All the photos show off the colour beautifully, but the bumblebee steals the show for me ๐๐
