Hi, Hey, Hello!
Thank you for joining me this weekend! How the heck are you?
What can I get started for you? I’m brewing up some black tea with milk and honey (of course) but also have coffee, any herbal tea your heart could desire, and some sun tea brewing on the bridge if you’d like something cool.
It’s going to be a bit warm again today (91*F forecasted), but it’s lovely out right now. Shall we have a seat on the front porch while we catch up for a little bit?
The week has been good… and hot… and filled a couple of glorious rain storms and the following rainbows!
I’m doing my best to stay cool, weed, re-sow spots that got eaten by critters, and enjoy the quieter moments of the season 🙂
How is the Summer Season treating you so far?

Speaking of Rainbows
Tomorrow is the Pride Celebration in Santa Fe, so I’ll be off early to get my march on and enjoy some solid time in community. It’s always a lovely wrap up to the month and allows for good reflections on how far we’ve come as Queers in the US and world and how far we still have to go.
I thought that, since I’ll be surrounded by rainbows over the weekend, I’d share some of my favorite rainbows with you!
This first one is a super cool compilation of photos taken in space. It was put together by Rachel Lense and shared to Bluesky, where I found it.

This next rainbow is a compilation I put together a few years ago of photos I’ve taken on the farm to share on social media alongside my 9 Beliefs (now shared on my About page).
Full transparency is the name of game 🙂

Next up are a couple of my favorite reminders. The first was taken at the 2025 Pride Parade, the second was found on Instagram.

Reading
Lastly, I’d like to share a couple of book scores that I’m diving into. It may be the end of the month, but Pride is year-long in our house, so I don’t feel pressured to finish these in the next few days, but am enjoying them none-the-less.

Maybe I’m a “bad gay” for not learning sooner about Alison Bechdel, but here we are. After hearing her speak (and finding her hilarious) at the Literary Festival in the Spring, I got very excited to explore her previous works! I mentioned her newest book, Spent, to a fellow gay and not only did she have a whole stack of her books to share with me, she GAVE them to me!
I am so very grateful and excited and have begun to slowly make my way through the first book, Dykes to Watch Out For.
I’ve also just begun reading Field Guide for the Formerly Villainous and am enjoying a bit of whimsey through a queer lens.
Are you reading anything good right now?
That’s All Folx
Thanks for sharing a cuppa with me! I hope we can do it again soon
As always, thanks to Natalie for continuing to host us for the #weekendcoffeeshare. She’s asking us to link up in the comments now, so please read, scroll, and pop around to see what others have been up to!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and week ahead!
Onward,
Melissa

June is PRIDE month in Toronto and there are many planned events to celebrate around the city. Your rainbow compilation of your photos on the farm is beautiful. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
Wonderful rainbow collection! Have a terrific Pride Day!
I do love that mug at the top of the post and the wonderful rainbow collection.
Books are such a great gift!!
I love rainbows. The picture that starts with the strawberries, pumpkin, sunflower . . . is creative.
I feel like June went by fast. I’m hoping that isn’t the case for July and August.
Happy reading, Melissa. Thanks for the virtual coffee.
I hope you had a great celebration at Santa Fe Pride! I love your rainbow collage, also the one you found on Bluesky 🙂
