Over a Cuppa: Six (Aquea)

Posted on May 3, 2025May 3, 2025 by Melissa

Hi, Hey, Hello!

Goodness, I’m so happy to see you! How the heck are you?!

Thanks for meeting with me virtually since I’m battling the crud (yes, again!). I’m brewing up some herbal tea for myself and trust you’ve got a cuppa something you’ll enjoy, too!

Aquea

I decided to begin pulling a Tarot card for the week each Monday as part of my reset routine from the beautiful new Wisdom of Place deck my sister gave me while she was here. As the Universe would have it, the card I pulled this week was aquea, offering a solid reminder to “be buoyant and float”.

At the time, it felt fitting, because as I re-assess my resets at the end of the school year (we homeschool) and as planting/growing season ramps up (we homestead/farm), I’ve learned that despite my concrete/sequential approach to the world in general, going with the flow is crucial to surviving it all with an ounce of sanity.

Little did I know when I pulled the card, though, that a battle was brewing in my body again. So, all my grand plans for the week fell away as I began to triage what had to happen vs. what I wanted to happen.

Thank goodness the April A to Z Challenge was completed and the bug waited until mid-week to officially settle in!

Alas, some weeds were weeded in short stints (sunshine is good for the body and soul), seeds were planted (there’s rain in the forecast!), learning for the week happened (with minimal pre-teen resistance), copious amounts of tea were drank (chamomile, mint, and mullein in rotation with osha infused honey), and rest was had (lots of naps and long sleeps).

The rest of the weekend is intended to be full of a little ACNH island re-design, the intention to finish The Honey Witch, and a lot more rest.

So, do tell! How was your week? Did it turn out as planned or did you have to find some flow in your neck of the woods as well?

Thanks for sharing a virtual cuppa with me this week! I so appreciate the company 🙂

As always, big thanks to Natalie for hosting us for a cuppa and providing a platform for us to find each other.

If you have a few extra minutes, please pop over and see what others are up to, too!

Until next time, be well.

Onward,

Melissa

Sorry to hear you’re battling the crud. I hope you get well soon. We had some light rain over here today and the cherry blossoms, magnolias and daffodils are at their peak bloom, simply gorgeous. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

    Hi Melissa.

I love your tea cup with that little possum on it. I also love the idea of pulling a Tarot card as part of a Monday reset routine. I might start doing this to. I don’t have Wisdom of Place deck though; my deck is by Nicoletta Ceccoli. Part of the deck’s description reads “provides insight into complex questions, where the dark mingles with the light and reveals the shades of gray that illuminate our most profound truths.” So, it would work for the Monday reset. Thanks for sharing.

I continue the healing process. I did have a couple of blue days this week, but that’s to be expected since being helpless has never been a comfortable position for me. The pain is less each day and I’m hoping I will soon be able to do more for myself. I hope you get over the crap quickly.

It is completely understandable to have blue days while in the throes of such healing. I am so glad you are seeing progress and can see the next chapter growing nearer. Hope your week has been a great one so far!

I hope you’re feeling better soon! My week plans got readjusted midweek with my first ever visit to a physical therapist. I’m sure it will be a big benefit in the long run. But I was unprepared for three visits a week and two at-home sessions a day. That’s a lot of time that I hadn’t accounted for at the beginning of the week!

Hi Joy! I sure hope this week is going a bit smoother than last! Multiple appointments have a way of sucking up much more time that we might have planned or hoped. May the benefits be swift and profound 🙂

Sorry to hear you are ill again.. hope you feel better. Rest and tea sound perfect. My house and calendar are very full right now.. lots of end of year things to wrap up and I am ready.. to wrap it up, close the chapter and transport myself into summer. Though I am sure I will find a way to over fill my calendar then as well.. can’t help myself I suppose.

Ah, isn’t that always the way? In the face of great expanse, our calendars have a way of filling themselves in quite quickly. I’m guessing there will copious amounts of fun and sunshine mixed in there as well as all the rest your body needs and all the joy your heart can hold!

I’ve been adding more mint tea in my routine and I think it has helped with my inflammation. That’s so interesting about the tarot cards but I don’t know how I would be able to interpret them.

I’m so glad you’re seeing benefits with mint! It’s such a gentle ally 🙂 Tarot is so fun! I don’t typically use them like many do with big spreads but have a few decks that I use regularly in my meditation and ancestry work and a weekly pull gives me something to ponder and remember as the days whip by.

Love the weekly tarot idea, and what a beautiful deck. I hope the practice brings you some centering, and that you feel better soon from that crud.

So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you are felling better by now, or use this as a very good excuse to cosy up with a book and a warm beverage. We grown-ups hardly get a chance a to that.

Hi Melissa, I am late catching up with everyone this week. I brought home the lurge from our trip to France and like you am only working at half speed. Probelm is plants won’t wait until we are well.

    I love this
“I’ve learned that despite my concrete/sequential approach to the world in general, going with the flow is crucial to surviving it all with an ounce of sanity.”
Before we went to France my sanity was defo being eroded despite trying to dodge the news. So much hate in the world right now … At least in France we had no TV and only limited internet so by the end of 9 days I wwas completely weaned off the crazy.

Hope you begin to feel better soon. {{{virtual hugs}}} from Portugal
