Family History

Inspired by my Grandma Eve’s writing about her “bold and queer” Grandma Hannah, my passion for family history and genetic genealogy rests on the pulse of my heart, in the space between all who’ve come before & all who’ve yet to come.

What do you get when you take a family tree inspired by oral history, coupled with our modern access to historic documentation, spurred on by genetic genealogy?

An amazing opportunity to uncover more about our ancestors than they could have ever imagined!

What does one need in order to dive into their own lineage?

  • Curiosity (and a willingness to learn)
  • Passion (for puzzles and detective work)
  • Patience (lots of patience)
  • Comfy Clothes (research sessions can be long)
  • A Cuppa (your favorite beverage)

Yep, that’s all it takes! Though like-minded community members can work wonders when you hit a wall or just want to chat about the ghosties in your lineage and I’m always happy to chat!

No matter where you are on your genealogy journey, never doubt how deeply important your life will be someday to someone you’ll never have the opportunity to meet.

You, and your lineage, deserve to be documented.

Onward,
Melis
